Does anybody know how well 4.4 and 3.71 can co-exist on the same workstation. We need to do a test conversion and let the client play awhile and yet still have access to the live 3.71 system. They don't use Frx. They do use graphical forms in 3.71

I've done that on a few systems. You need to be careful about editing forms in 3.71 after installing 4.4. Occasionally I have to rerun wksetp on one or the other. Not sure what triggers it but, no big deal. No apparent confilct that would cause data errors.

Thanks. So as long as we don't expect to do any 3.71 crystal work after the 4.4 install we should be ok?

You'll be OK. Been doing it for long time. I'd stay away from crystal designer, credit card stuff or Starship integration though.

    I agree with Mark's statement.

I have every version of MAS (v3.71 - 4.4) on server and accessing them is usually not an issue. Rerunning Wksetup is about the only PITA that I have to do occasionally. If you do use a third party app, be sure to launch the correct version of MAS first so there is less confusion with the ODBC driver (it seems to default to the last version of MAS used). Regarding Crystal, I always launch designer first, then find the form to modify via the open command in designer.
