  • 1.  Do you have any documentation on the steps V-Technologies uses for StarShip cloud upgrades?

    I'm sure your clients are being given the old "look how expensive we are going to make perpetual" sales pitch by V-Technologies, as are mine. I have two clients who are interested in going to StarShip Cloud, primarily because it appears that all new development is on StarShip Cloud. V-Technologies charges a fee to help the client upgrade. I don't know exactly what type of effort is required from the Sage VAR, as well as what V-Technologies does as part of the upgrade.

    Have you been through this and can you outline what V-Technologies does for their perpetual-to-cloud upgrade fee?

    @Wayne Schulz  I just received this from Simon Volta at V-Technology.  Here is what they do as part of their "Onboarding".

    Our team will conduct these steps as part of the Onboarding/Data Migration to move someone to our Cloud solution.

      1. Update the On Prem Server to Latest Version
      2. Run Data Conversion Utility to Extract 80% of the data and import that into the Cloud environment.  Below is a list of all the various pieces of info we can bring over.

      1. We Set Up Connectors on local machines for Shipping along with a Source Connector as well
      2. Printers and Scales are Configured with those connectors
      3. Carriers are Authenticated
      4. Testing is Completed to Ensure Data is coming in and being sent back accurately
      5. 2 Hours Training Provided (Desktop Clients Only)

    Thanks, this is helpful. The quotes I'm seeing are all "do this by mm/dd/yy or our promo expires" and then the when can we get started times after 2-4 weeks. It's starting to remind me a lot of the last round of StarShip required upgrades...
