  • 1.  Do you have a way to revert back StarShip to the prior version?

    I know with Sage 100 upgrades I traditionally take the \MAS90 folder and back it up somewhere. If something goes wrong I can usually copy/paste the \MAS90 and be back up and running ( save for Premium ).

    With StarShip I wonder if there is a way to do the same thing.

    Last night I did a 24.0.1 to 24.0.3 StarShip upgrade where we briefly hit some technical issues. Naturally the first think the owner asks is how can we revert back to the prior version that worked.

    Am I missing a trick here or is there no easy way to go back to the prior StarShip version? 

    Do you have a best practice for backing up the existing StarShip version (aside from running the SQL backup as indicated in the upgrade instructions)?

    I did a restore a couple of years ago.  Attached to this post is a document that helps explain the process.

    Thanks, Doug. It looks like a simple copy/paste doesn't work in this case. And even then - for my last upgrade one of the issues had to do with a registry entry gone wild and I'm not sure if copy/paste would have resolved it. 

    Customers understandable get a little nuts if their entire shipping department is down for an extended period of time.
