  • 1.  Do favorites created in test persist through the final migrate on go live day?

    Client is upgrading to Premium, new Sage is installed on a new server, system and data have been migrated for testing, testers will be running through their test procedures for a couple of weeks and then we will re-migrate (no system migrate, data only) for Go Live.

    Question came up in training - if a user creates favorites while testing, will those favorites persist through the final migrate of live data at cut over?

    For Premium/Advanced Favorites exist on the client (in this case a terminal server) right, so the favorites should still be there after the migrate, right?

    If you are only doing a data only final migration, I think the favorites are not touched.

    Since the favorites are stored in my documents/sage100 folder and not the server all the favorites created during testing should stick.

    I always found it interesting that favorites created in one version show up in all versions (even in prior versions).

    User favorites are local (in My Documents), but the new Public Favorites might be overwritten... so take a backup.

    I think we will be good. They have no public favorites and the new client is installed on the same terminal server as the old client so it sounds like their favorites might show up already and not even need to be re-created.
