One comment about the Inactive field - Sage (bless their hearts) changed the name of that field somewhere between recent versions and if folks had that field in an ALE, it doesn't convert well. Either the ALE conversions don't work like the Crystal Reports conversions, or someone just forgot they changed that field name. (Inactive vs InactiveItem)

The way I understand the feature is that ALE's for the primary Maintenance screen for an entity (Customer / Vendor / Item) is not affected by the setting, to ensure you can (for example) find the items / customers / vendors and potentially make them active.
(I really don't know if the auto-complete "should" be filtered... I guess we'll have to see what Sage says).

Did you ever get a resolution? I just posted on sage city about this too. I have a client on 2024 Advanced 7.30.0.0. ALE Settings are set to NOT display inactive items. They use enhanced auto complete. Changing the ALE lookup flag to not display inactive items ONLY effects auto complete of items in Sales Order entry lines. It does not change ALE lookups or auto complete in item maintenance. I can customize an ALE to exclude the inactive items but I have no way to resolve the auto complete that continues to display inactive items.
