  • 1.  Disallow Cost change in PO Receiving

    Anyone know of a way to completely disallow a cost change in PO Receiving? There is a security option in Role Maintenance  that prevents users from Increasing cost but not decreasing cost (@Sage - why would you do that). They could easily lower the cost.or accidentally make it zero (as in this customers case). They would like to block a change completely. I know scripting will probably do it. Just wondering if there is a another option.

    Hide the cost field from the user via custom office?

    Or disable the field, make it view only.

    Hide is the only option for stock grid fields (there is no disable).
    The problem with the Hide is if you enter a RoG with invoice, you won't be able to set the correct cost (matching the invoice).

    Script is probably the best approach (with a Role check to allow some users to do the override).
