  • 1.  Direct Deposit Stubs disappear from Employee Viewer and File Explore

    Recently upgraded a customer v2017 to v2019 Standard to Standard and did a server move to server that was already in use for the company but not for Sage (so not a new new server).
    They had Electronic Delivery in their v2017 of the DD Stubs.
    In v2019 Electronic Delivery hasn't been working.
    Today I connected and processed 2 payroll checks.  
    The first 1 could see the PDF get created in Employee Viewer, and during the check register update, the PDF literally disappeared from the Employee Viewer and is not in File Explore/DD Stub folder.
    In Form Maintenance, I had the box checked to 'send electronically during check register update'

    I then processed a 2nd payroll, first unselecting the 'send electronically during check register udpate'.  
    Again, I could see the PDF in Employer Viewer, but there was no employee number, employee name, but there was an email address.  I tried to send from Employee Viewer and it wouldn't send.
    After a few minutes, the Stub disappeared again from Employee Viewer and File/Explore.
    Consequently, they now have no PDF stubs since the go-live upgrade (March 18).

    I have an email out to their IT to check AV, but this is bizarre.
    Any ideas?

    A PDF seems like an odd thing to trigger an AV deletion, but I have had 2 clients recently with upgrades where the main install went fine, but then when I went to install the Service Update, it would start, then about halfway through just disappear from running AND disappear from the folder it had been stored in.  In both cases it WAS the AV.  So similar enough that I'm betting it's true.  :-)

    Update:  Still not resolved.
    Excluded Sage directory from AV.
    Changed DEP settings to be on for Essential Windows Programs only.
    Found the PR DD Stub disappears when I answer YES to the check register update.  
    Did find tonight that PR_EmployeePDFLog.m4t doesn't appear to have converted correctly.  Assuming this is part of the problem.  
    Rest of PR appears to be ok, although a deep dive hasn't been done.
    So my super smart friends....how do I fix this?
    No third parties, although they did have Kissinger ACH in their v2017
    I could understand why the DD Stubs don't show up in the Viewer, but why do they not stay in the DD Stub Folder?

    I'm making a guess here - not suggesting this is a fix I've seen/used:

    Since this is standard - Sage should be using the Windows credentials of the user running the DD. Be sure that when you are logged in as that user on Windows that you can get to \\mssfs-6\sage\DD Stubs\ and have full rights to create and delete

    Stumbled across this as well - just an FYI

    Error: "The PDF document was not created successfully" printing to Paperless PDF when the Storage location is on a server separate from the Sage 100 server

    Cause
    PDF storage location is on a separate server
    Permissions
    Security settings on the file server are preventing the cleanup process from being completed, resulting in the error. The PDF is usually created without a problem, but in some instances it is not created.

    I think I finally have this resolved.
    I reinitialized the PR_EmployeePDFLog.m4t (after making a backup) and processed another payroll and it all worked as designed.
    They have lost access to the Employee Viewer records from prior to the ugprade but can browse to the folder for them if necessary.
    I could create a file and have our developer create a program to insert them back in to the log, but not sure it's necessary.
    Weird...  so glad it's resolved though.
