  • 1.  Difference between Sage PM and Scanco PM

What did Sage actually do when they created their version of Production Management?  Did they take Scanco's code and clean it up?  Created a entirely new code set?  Is there new user manual or does the manual Scanco created for partner certification still apply to the "new" version.  Searching for the best relevant manual to train users.

    TIA

Even developers were not privy to the Scanco code for that version of Production Management so it is not possible to tell for sure, but looking at the table names from Scanco (JTxxx folder) and comparing it to the table names for the new Sage (PMxxx Folder), the table names are basically the same but they are now preceded with "PM" instead of "JT" (screen shot attached)  so it is reasonable assumption that they took Scanco's code and cleaned it up, added some efficiencies, and added just a few features.

I'm not aware of any new training manual, just help files. The Scanco Training Manual is probably "close" but some functionality has changed. For example when creating a work ticket you can click on the "Copy From" button (that was a requirement in the Scanco version). That button is not necessary if you have a BOM and Template setup for the item that you select. Maybe the "what's new in 2022" document would help in identifying changes from the Scanco Training manual. If someone has seen new training manuals I would like to get my hands on those too.
