Didn't someone post a while back issues with v4.5 recalculating inventory history by period? I am running into that issue and can't locate the tread. Thanks in advance.

Me me me. Sage has sent a fix to my client but I don't know what happened - he was supposed to test before vacation and I have a feeling it didn't get done. But since he was doing to Disney, I cut him some slack. :-) Anyway, Sage was babbling away about it having to do with drop ships (which client hardly ever uses) and the fix recalcs some IM stuff using the AR Invoice HIstory files. Which means if you have to purge (or choose to purge) AR Invoice HIstory more frequently than IM, you will have issues.

Can you locate the original thread. My issue is that we imported transactions into v4.3 IM5 then migrated to v4.5. The history transactions all come across, however the ItemWhseHistorybyPeriod calculations are way off. Drop ships aren't even a factor in this case.

Is that the Inventory Management / Utilities / Recalculate Item History ?

@JeffSchwenk - pretty much my case, too - the numbers that are off for this client were not drop ships, but still Sage is blaming DS. And we can see the transaction history detail, but if you add it up for the month, it's not what is in the summary file. I have a support ticket number, but not a KB entry number - but I'd love it if you got attached to mine because I think it's a lot more widespread than DS.

I had a customer change their fiscal year and caused issues - we used DSD rebuild (unsure if it's available at 4.4)

I don't think we upgraded it because no one was interested in purchasing it.

    1. Was this system migrated from 4.30 or earlier? 2. Was it migrated to v4.4 before SP9 before migrating to v4.50? 3. Has the Balance Inventory Quantity and Cost Utility been run on this system? 4. Do you find ""IZ"" Inventory Transactions that are NOT your oldest inventory records? If your answer to #4 is ""yes"" then 1, 2, or 3 has occurred. We can discuss repair issues and process considerations that have been successful for several clients. I fought with Sage for months that they were releasing utilities (#3) that were bad (until v4.40SP9) and poorly explained (and still are...)

This is a new installation. Client wants to import inventory transactions so they can run a purchasing report based on the past 24 months of usage. In v4.5, you cannot import IM transactions so we imported trnasactions into v4.3 IM5 and then migrated that release to v4.5. All of the transactions from IM5 migrated to IM_itemtransactionHistory. When the migration was done rebuilding the IM_ItemWhseHistoryByPeriod, a lot of the data did not summarize properly. Which is where I am at. Dennis Kantor pull some files today to look at them.

I would try running the Balance Utility on a back-up to see if the Transaction Detail adds up to the current balance On Hand. It most likely won't balance. If it doesn't the Recalc Inventory won't work. Let me know what you see...
