Did I see here that someone has tested Sage 100 on Windows 8? If I didn't see it here, has anyone tested with it yet?

I've not tested it but have a client that is running a workstation on Win 8 - I've warned them not supported, and for right now they're only using it for inquiry and quick demos (it's a laptop). They said it runs faster, don't know about printing, updates, etc. yet. (Sage 100 Advanced v. 4.50)

I have one user on Sage 100 Advanced 4.40 who started using Windows 8 two days ago. No problems reported so far.

I have 4.50 running -- I've not tested things like paperless. I tried to install 4.05 to my Win 8 desktop and it installed all the way to starting up and prompting for a login then it quit with a can't access the registry type error.

Has anyone tried Atlas with IE10 in Windows 8?

Thanks for the update - sounds promising with those versions. I have a client on 4.3 getting ready to purchase new computers. This may accelerate the upgrade to 4.5 or 2013.

My user is reporting not being able to print to paperless office. We are working through the various pdf converter troubleshooting steps.

We had that this week @GeneUlrich. I think the solution was to manually register the CDIntf.dll.

Thanks Robert. I will have them try that tomorrow.

Update on the paperless office saga. Client has manually registered the various dll's, added a Sage port to the local machine, copied the registry entries for the converter from a working Windows 7 box to the Windows 8 box, uninstalled the Sage PDF Converter and reinstalled through PL_AdvancedOptions_UI. Still no joy.

@GeneUlrich Do you know what the error is (so we recognize it if a Win 8 customer calls?)

Unable to process the Lockfile: Crystal Reports ActiveX Designer - report name. Processing cancelled.

    Turn off locking in PL_AdvancedOptions_UI.

    Or there's this: http://infosource.sagesoftwareonline.com/sw_attach/kdb.asp?isResolutionConceptID=494745

Therese - that was one of the first things we tried.

I figured as much but thought I'd throw it in there just in case.

Robert's suggestion to turn off locking now causes a different error which I am trying to chase down.

We appear to have resolved the issue! Turning off locking caused a ""Printer Not Activated, Error Code -20"" error. That error led to this resolution http://infosource.sagesoftwareonline.com/sw_attach/kdb.asp?isresolutionconceptid=506665 which toward the end says to verify permissions in the Registry on the HKey_Current_Config_Software key. Added full control (Allow) for Everyone/Administrators/Users and Paperless now seems to be working. This was a new place for me to have to deal with permissions.

Windows 8 computer running 4.30 had the same error as @GeneUlrich above: ""Unable to process the Lockfile: Crystal Reports ActiveX Designer - report name. Processing cancelled."" Turning off Locking in pl_advancedoptions_ui didn't help, but changing the Rights in the Registry did (per what Gene noted above).
