Did I miss a memo from Sage where they earlier announced the departure of Rober Deshaies? Doesn't it seem odd that the EVP of the Specialty Solutions leaves - without mention - and they just indicate that his direct reports are all re-assigned? Did anyone see a memo announcing Deshaies was leaving/left?

My guess is that he knew that all the products were being reassigned as value products and jumped off the ship instead of watching it go down. No memo to my knowledge but I long ago stopped keeping track of the comings and going of the execs.

Let's hope the Yahoo guy does a little better job communicating with the channel.

Yes, I would hope he will draft up a nice departure announcement for himself. (too soon?)

He'll be forever known as Brad Smith, the Yahoo! guy.

How about just ""the Yahoo! guy"" from now on?

And the vacant indications are old - most of these have since been filled.

One nit: Gregoric was fired. I think the rest all left on their own volition.

and Himanshu Palsule and Kevin Rooker go on and on and on ... Still not clear exactly what Himanshu does.

Ok so if Brad Smith is taking on managing support - that might mean that whoever managed the support area on a VP level is gone. Anyone know who that might be?

Sorry I just looked on LinkedIn -- looks as if Deshaies was in charge of support.

Jeffrey Szaronos is somewhere in the support mgmt chain too.

I'm going to interpret Himanshu's promotion as ""he had another job offer so we gave him more money and a better title

It sound to me like Szaranos' role is more technical than the description for The Yahoo Guy's. Szaranos is Mid-Market, and TYG is N America.

Yeah because I think he answers directly to Pascal.

Maybe Himanshu can offer a class on strategic negotiating. This would have been a really embarrassing time for Sage to lose him in that role. He knew it, too, I'm sure.

@JerryNorman - I think you give them more credit than is deserved. They have had plenty of embarrassing losses and it never seems to phase them. Just my 2 cents.

Himanshu is an all around good guy. Sharp as a tack too. (my opinion)

So we have determined what Hamnshu does, what value does Rooker add to the firm?

Last I talked to Rooker, he was the key guy in Sales Ops: making the order process work. I'm sure he's been in Hell with the SAP move. i wouldn't be surprised if he leaves soon to go to a sander dimension.

I'm pretty sure that Himanshu acts as the technology sanity check. He's one of those rare guys who understands computer technology down to the level of the ""gotchas"" but who also sees the business value of various features at 30k foot level. I think without him there would be no hope that the various products would integrate to anything in a consistent nature.

No wonder he has been lying low. I wonder if he has 24 hour police protection now.

Deshaies was another MS channel guy that Jodi recruited. More confirmation of trends we've already discussed.

I think Himanshu pushed connected services. A move that seems the only good one in the past few years.

While I agree I think we need to see Connected Services adoption first.

Thanks Moira - I had heard that as well. Looks as if some of the MSFT hires are thinking better of their new positions.
