  • 1.  Determining FRx version when no FRx clients are in

Determining FRx version when no FRx clients are installed. Client replaced the only computer they were using for FRx. So we need to get FRx back up and running on the new computer. Assuming their Sysdata folder resides on the network, is there a way to determine the FRx version/SP within this folder? Or is there some other way to determine the version?

Look in the ..\Sysdata\LogFiles\FRxdbSyncxxxxxxxx.log file. You should see a line for the template version.

One assumes that they are on some verison of v6.7.8. The various service pack change the level. I was under the impression that the sysdata would work on all versions. A way to test is to copy the sysdata folder to a different machine and install FRx on it. By working with the copy, you can't really hurt anything.

Nice, @GeneUlrich! Thanks. That helped me confirm what I had gathered thus far. And yes, @JeffSchwenk, they were running 6.7.11027 (most recently upgraded from 6.7.8069). I think I'll blog this tip.
