  • 1.  Deleting Vendors

    When you use the Delete and Change Vendor utility and you delete vendors, does it delete check history?? Customer wants to delete inactive vendors but doesn't want to lose the payment history. Check history is not listed as one of the files if you don't select All files. TIA!

    Why not just mark them as "Temporary" and let them purge during period end?

    What gets deleted is easy to test... just do it in a test company.  (I never trust what "should" happen for some things... best to try and see)!

    I've encountered some nightmares with Vendor Merge and I believe Check History.  If they merge 2 vendors and then try to create a new vendor using the obsolete vendor number, I believe the check history populates the check tab in vendor maintenance.  So you may want to test that also!
