  • 1.  Deleting GL: Summary record created during purge

    I have a customer with about 200 GL accounts all flagged for delete.

    In particular, one P&L account has a history in 2012
    I set the years to retain to 1 and perform year-end

    When I look in the GL Detail Report at one particular account I see: 

    Summary record created during purge

    And there doesn't appear to be any way to purge the data. For a P&L account I would not expect to see summary created. 


    Has anyone run into this? I this a 2020 bug or am I overlooking something?

    I’m not doing anything except;

    - set retention to one year
    - purge ( from utilities menu )
    - move period to 12
    - period/year end

    I still am looking to see what Sage is doing.

    It almost seems like it works for balance sheet accounts but P&L accounts don’t get purged but a BB entry is incorrectly created.

    This BB entry prohibits deletion either by clicking the delete button on account maintenance or during year end ( the only two ways I am aware of deleting an account ).
