Library Master, Main, Company Maintenance, Convert button - What's the purpose of the "Convert SAP Crystal reports" and the "Update Custom Office panels to current level" check boxes?  I always check these boxes, and before the boxes existed I always used the previous methods of converting Crystal reports and updating the Custom Office panels.   In what situation would someone converting data not want to do these two steps?

When you had already converted the reports and all you needed to convert was data?

Possibly.  I suggest simplifying the UI by removing the check boxes and automatically converting the Crystal reports and updating the custom office panels.

In my experience it doesn't always work (so I still do both steps manually).  Reports in various places are sometimes skipped... I think it relies on the Sage table data, instead of scanning the directories (the way mascrcw.exe works) so manually copied report settings / forms won't be converted by this kind of upgrade report conversion.

    IMHO it never really works.

Good idea, poor implementation.  There is at least one other post on this topic (mine) originating when this "feature" was released.  As I recall, the feedback was that you had to do ALL companies in order to run the second two options.  I tried on several conversions, gave up the ghost.  Maybe Sage can work on RMA enhancements next.....

If it doesn't work then it is even more persuasive an argument to remove the check boxes from the convert data screen.  If reports and screen customization always need to be converted, then either bake in the routines (that work) to convert, or remove the check boxes and require the tasks be performed manually.

Oh, I am sure it works in whatever small test environment that Sage used.  Problem is that no one here is quite sure what the steps are to replicate the test environment results.  Like many things Sage, it is a mystery that only the shadow knows.  The road to hades is paved with good intentions.  Sometimes intentions just don't cut it.
