  • 1.  Customizing Lines Tabs for All/Ind User but not Groups.

v2016 Advanced.  Customer has 2 Customizer Groups plus All/All (Group CRM/All & Group WHSE/All).  Why can we not add UDF Fields to the Lines Tab of the Groups?  How am I supposed to then get the fields available for those 2 groups?  Please don't tell me I have to delete the customized panels for the Groups and redo them?  That would just be dumb!

    Thanks

I'm hate to tell you; but you can't make grid changes to groups. You only have individual users, or "ALL" as an option. Not pleasant! I added it to the ideas site over a year ago.

One option that may help is to create customization groups in user maintenance.  You will be allowed to select any of the customization groups created in user maintenance when creating a screen customization.

If you want a technical "why", it is because of how Sage stores the grid data.  UserKey is either the specific user, or ########## (for all).  There is logical way to reference a "group" with this method.
Note: user-specific entries in this table don't get deleted if you delete the associated panel (since you can see above the table key doesn't reference a specific customized panel).
