Customer wanted expiration dates added to the item cost file so that when they receive an item, they can assign an expiration date for that lot. Works okay in PO ROG entry but it doesn't appear to be an option in WO completions. Good ol' legacy WO. Any options I haven't thought of??

Can you tell us what you have thought of? Are your WO completions lot or serialized? If so, do you have enough room in that field to add an expiration code to that field. Or can they wait till September for the new framework WO release? Otherwise, create a procedure for company to edit the lot number after it has been completed to inventory and fill in the expiration date after the fact.

They use lot numbers for finished goods completed in WO but they use actual lot numbers from their vendor (kind of complicated) and I don't believe they have enough room for the lot and date. @NicoleRonchetti did Jon say you could expand the lot field in IM.ItemCost?? Don't know why that's ringing a bell??

Yes we do have an enhancement that expands the lot/serial number field but not in W/O. We could do it but it would be pricey with W/O being legacy. We'll do it when W/O is in framework. Honestly though, it would definitely be more cost effective to add your current expiration date UDF that you've already created to the W/O completions screen. If its something that you want us to quote for you just shoot me an email.
