  • 1.  Customer upgrade from v450 Premium to v2024 Premuim

    Posted 06-05-2025 12:04

I have a customer who is running the Sage 100 SQL version 450 (this was before we called it Premuim). They have a highly customized mod that runs outside of Sage but that reads the SQL database and then makes data available to bring into Sage via VI.  The point is that the systems have touch points but not integrated.

I am making a point of this because we will have to do a trial upgrade to v2024 and then follow with a live upgrade after the new programming and testing.

I know that there is a step upgrade approach coming from v450 that is made more difficult being SQL.  Has anyone had experience with the upgrade from 450 SQL to 2024 Premium that would be willing to share the approach and steps?

    Thanks in advance.

@Wayne Schulz ???  I thought the process was Migrate to v2017(?) and then continue the migration to 2024

I'm not sure on this one. I thought someone had very recently within the past few months given feedback on needing to make a stop at 2024 prior to 2025 although I could be thinking of something else.

I have been able to go from 4.50 SP8 to the current version.   I THINK the one hitch is if they have PR, then I believe you have to go to 2017 or 2018.     I generally don't deal with payroll so not much experience there.
