Customer upgrade from v4.4 to v2016 PU1, with National Accounts a big part of this. They had been using AR-1068 to create that SoldTo-ShipTo functionality for ~10 years prior. We ran the utility specified before upgrade to fix addresses, but it reported ""no data found."" This is the same customer situation Chuck reported earlier this week.
We had done a couple upgrades of similar situations in the past from v4.4, but those were to v4.5 or v2013. No problems there.
In this upgrade the secondary id field in the AR Open Invoice Header and AR invoice History Header files were blank. The primary id's in these records are different. Hence in Open the SoldTo field is blank, but in History the BillTo field is blank. The two files are quite large: 88MB in the prior and 158MB in the latter.
This was done from a sandbox and we still have the original v4.4 too. The upgrade behavior was the same in the trial upgrade.
Attempts to use VI to place the correct data in the empty fields fail. VI throws nonsensical data type errors on the 2 fields. Alnoor says that he can structure a script to get around these limitations and fix all the data, which would be fine.
My question is this: when did this program bug sneak in? We see NO reference to it anywhere. There would have made a lot of noise if this was the performance in early versions of this. I suspect that 4.5 NA conversions are few and far between now, and therefore any bug created in recent version upgrades would be unfound.
Anybody have any insights or experience here?
