Customer Search index

    Client just upgraded to 2022.2 with Greytrix and Starship.  Search index is working in all fields except Customer.  You type in anything and nothing happens.  Anyone else seen this?

    The may have a custom ALE. Run the Lookup Conversion in LM / Setup.

    It's actually before you go into ALE, but I tried it anyway and nothing.  Wondering if it's the Greytrix connection, since it's the customer file.

    Is this enhanced search or just auto-complete? If enhanced, you might try this then build the search index again.

    • Browse to the ..\MAS90\MAS_SYSTEM directory on the server
    • Rename or Delete the Index_AC directory that was created

    No go.  It says it indexed 56K customers, but I type in a letter and nada.

    Use DFDM to look at the Customer.M4L under MAS90\AR and any customized versions of the panel under the MAS90\AR\Custom sub-directories.  Locate the ML_Customer record on the dMain panel and check field number 58 (Nomads_Prop$).  It should contain "AutoComplete=Customer" plus ASCII code 1.  If your default library under MAS90\AR doesn't have field number 58, a recent product update likely messed it up and using the utility to update custom panels wiped out the value in field number 58 in the customized versions of the library.

    Attached is a copy from a 2022.1 install that has the field and value.

    Everything I shared is what I found while assisting someone else with the exact same symptoms you are having.  The issue for the other client occurred after a PU was installed.

    Are you looking in field number 58?  The other client's library under MAS90\AR was not showing field number 58, think it stopped at field number 56. 

    Did you check any customized versions of the panels?

    Are you sure you are on the right record in the library?  You have to use the search button and locate the record for the ML_Customer control on the dMain panel.

    58 Nomad Props in both files, and in a custom one.  All are blank, and AP is working with it blank

    @David Speck II helped me fix it, then we found out it is an Avatax issue (sorry ROI and Greytrix for assuming it was one of you two).
    From @Jon Reiter:

    Here is the solution:

     

    1. Save a "standard" AR_Customer.M4L into the mas90\AR directory, for the correct version / PU the user is on
    2. Download the latest AvaTax and reinstall, for the correct version they are on
    3. Reinstall their other enhancements (if they have any)
    4. Run Custom Office utilities.
