  • 1.  Customer says the line entry delete button grayed out in SO Invoice Entry - Lines

    Customer is saying that suddenly they cannot access the delete button on the sales order invoice lines page. They say they've been able to do this before. I've logged in with my user and I can duplicate. I suspect a third-party enhancement. They use ScanForce, Altec, CIMCloud and probably a few others.

    One an existing invoice I can see a delete icon ( not grayed out ) for SPECIAL ITEMS -- it appears to be the inventory items where I can't delete a line

    The user says they cannot delete the line in shipping data entry either.

    I tried rebuilding custom office panels - that didn't change anything

    Any other suggestions on how to drill down the issue? I'm thinking rename the LINKS folder after hours and see if that has any impact. Ordinarily I would think some type of enhancement is causing this issue except the customer hasn't added any new enhancements recently.

    Escape trapping should help eliminate a problem with the customized panel...

    I don't think you've ever been able to delete line items on an invoice that is created from a Sales Order

    That certainly makes sense.  Missing lines from the invoice will break the quantities on those lines (in the SO) after updating.  Missing lines is a constant headache when dealing with VI imports to create Invoices from SO, and it is quite logical that Sage will prevent that issue within the UI.

    I tried the ESC and that didn't have an impact. Since the customer was adamant that they had done  the delete before I thought this may have been something new. I'll have to test it going from SO - SO Invoice and see if that produces a different result.

    Follow-up on this - customer now isn't quite as confident that "this always worked" and is presuming the reason they cannot delete lines in SO Invoice is because the transaction originated from Sales Order.
