    Customer on 4.4 latest PU - having an issue where the system completely locks in several areas. One example is looking at the system activity log. I renamed the SY_Activity, seemed to fix the issue but we still are getting odd freezes. No other error messages and one other user can go in under her login. Suspect some type of network user rights problem - but naturally I'm walking through the ""prove it"" steps now. I'm copying the network version to a local drive to see if it runs without freezing. I figure if it does then that's a step toward ruling out a corrupt system file -- and if it continues to freeze then I probably have a damaged SY0CTL or similar Customer has a history of tight network security where we've had to tweak permissions in the past to load upgrades, etc. Any other thoughts or guesses as I wait for this to copy?

    Starting to look like user rights issue (which is what I told then three hours ago)

    Have any new ""local"" printers been added that might be offline? If this printer is the last default printer used MAS may be sitting waiting for it to come online to print. I usually recommend asking one user at a time to log off/close. At some point the system freeze will stop and there will be the user/printer/workstation problem.

    I copied their network version of MAS to a local computer - everything runs like a champ. My tentative diagnosis is a rights issue.

    There should be a Double Billing surcharge every time you waste time with MAS and an IT guy telling you its not a rights issue
