Customer on 4.4 and uses Payroll and A/P, amongst other things. I know it's not supported, but anyone install the 2014 IRD and/or tax table updates. Any problems and/or suggestions? BTW, they are on a plan and promise to upgrade to v2014......soon

From memory this has always been a gotcha - or at least it's caught me with Sage 100 EES in the past. I want to say that in the past someone took the files from an upgraded version and copied them over to an unsupported level and they may have worked. Obviously proceed at your own risk with proper backup. By unsupported level I mean same version different product update. Yes this may cause issues getting support from Sage. As of now I think the message to payroll users is that they must be on the most current product updated for their supported level at least 3 months prior to 12/31 if they wish to install any IRD and that we unfortunate do not know of which IRD may or may not be issued. Their choice as to whether they want to assume the risk. It is THEIR risk not ours. Important to get that ""at least 3 months prior"" unless you enjoy interrupting your holidays doing emergency upgrades. This is going to become a bigger problem because each release of Sage has fewer and fewer must have features so the upgrades become more of a mandatory maintenance than features customers look forward to. PS - To the cloud doubters - this is a big differentiating factor between the on premises and cloud world. You can argue that the cloud is just prepaid maintenance but at least it's not lot's of surprises like this seems to be.

Jeff, it is a fact. You cannot install the 2014 IRD on unsupported versions. Tried to install on 4.4 and it nicely informed me that this version is not supported.

@JimWoodhead did we have a workaround for this at one time? I seem to remember that you were copying files at one point. This issue with the IRD has been around for the last few years so it's definitely not new.
