Customer on 2016.5 wants to prevent the user from changing the salesperson number at the time of SO Entry I don't think there is standard functionality that would allow restricting this. Anyone tackle this in any way other than custom office and disabling the field and/or scripting? I just want to be sure I'm not overlooking something really simple.

Either use a script, or (more simply) lock the field for those users that shouldn't have access. Alternatively, if those users aren't allowed to modify an existing record, you can remove that in Roles.

Customization Group and a panel edit seems about the easiest solution.
