Customer just upgraded from 4.3 to 4.4. They sell a lot of custom items so once a month, they merge them into an OLDITEM record. Apparently, they may have different valuation methods which wasn't a problem in 4.3 but now he cannot merge them. Is anyone familiar with this?

Found a similar thing - client trying to merge 2 standard cost items and could not because the standard cost was different. Sounds like it's all related.

@BethBowers, are you saying you couldn't merge because the 2 Standard Cost valuation items had different Standard Costs in I/M Maint/Inq? Wow!

Beth, were there quantities on hand? I can see where that would cause problems. Technically, they should change the std cost on one prior to merging. Whew! On the other hand, my customer simply merges them for history and there are no quantities on hand so if you have zero at an ave. cost of X and zero at a serial cost of Y, how would THAT mess things up? If you do a return, an adjustment, issue?

The item merging into had no QOH, but the item being merged into did, I believe.
