Customer is trying to change their fiscal year. They are currently set up in FY 2013, set to end in February. They want to end in December and have a calendar year. If they already are using FY 2013, and we change their current FY to end in December, how do we handle what the next year would be set up as if we can't make it 2013?

There is a KB article on this: https://partners.sagenorthamerica.com/irj/go/km/docs/sageKM/Sage%20MAS%2090%20and%20200/Gated%20Customers/Warr_Svc_Support%20Plan/1901.html

Sounds like they were set up incorrectly in the first place. Fiscal years should be set up based on year of the beginning month so what happened to you won't happen. In a nutshell, you'll have to reset your GL calendar back a year, then recalculate the account balances using the utility in GL utilities. It seems daunting, but not really. As always, copy the data to your test and do it there. You may have issues with the beginning balances..........

I'm not sure what version you're talking about but I did this for one of my customers and the recalc took forever - until I did it on the server.

Thank you - this is exactly what I needed to know - I even searched the knowledgebase and never found that article...It sounds like I may want to do this from their server.

@JenniferChristion, if we fail to get a hit on the Mighty Atlas, we always try the old InfoSource version (may it exist for a while longer). The Re-init and Re-enter the fiscal years and Recalc has been a lot easier than the GLZMSU process. We do at night or weekend and always do it on a test company as Jeff suggests. With our clients, the fiscal year has been the same as the year end.
