Customer is on v2014. They are going to be using

Customer is on v2014. They are going to be using a service from Wells Fargo Bank (WF) called Payment Manager Services for their ACH in AP. WF has indicated this service does not use a standard NACHA file but rather the file specs in my attachments. I have no idea how I'm going to get Sage ACH to mimic these specs, but WF says other customers using Sage have been able to implement this. Has anybody here ever implemented this or have suggestions about the ACH setup in Sage for this? Thanks

I am pretty sure that we did this for a customer at 2013. We did many udfs and the wrote a custom modification to create the files. Reach out to me tomorrow and we can talk about it. Cblack@asifocus.com<mailto:Cblack@asifocus.com> Sent from my cell phone. Please forgive any misspellings.

@NancyHanson - You ACTUALLY have someone at W(t)F that knows what they are talking about????? Hard to believe! I have about five clients using WF and I have yet to find anyone knowledgeable. Luckily, I got the first one with ACH working and I just copied from there. What are the possibilities that your client can switch to an NACHA format?? As @CooperBlack is saying, sounds like it is going to be complicated. I would go back to them and ask. Perhaps you will be doing them a favor.

i'm working on this very thing for a customer of ours right now. I'm using UDFs and a script to create a text file from the AP_Check files. When they first asked about it, I assumed it could be done with ACH, doesn't seem that way. I need to look again for that Wells Fargo option!

I understand ACH and sending a file that will allow the bank to send payments to vendors on behalf of the company. My problem was that the vendor addresses were not included in the ACH files. We needed those as the bank MAY have to mail checks to vendors.

We are ""sort of"" talking ACH. We are looking to send a payment file to the bank so they can handle the actual payment disbursement. Some may be ACH some may be checks. etc. There are actually several different payment types that are available.

I'm pretty sure I went through this same process for a client of mine about a year ago. I believe the ""Payment Mgr Services"" is just a fancy name for customer self-service portal. I remember fretting over all the file layouts that WF sent. In the end, everything could be accomplished by using the ACH configuration, and it only required minor changes in the Sage ACH setup. Before you spend a lot of time, you could probably setup the ACH account using the attached file, and see if your WF rep could test a file from you that has a few test checks in it. I've included the fields that we populated. This is a current, working ACH setup between my client and W.F.. If it doesn't work, then you could see if something more complex is required.

Thanks for your input Chris, I don't know if your custom was just sending ACH payments to Wells Fargo or not. But my customer is sending all payments to WF some will be processed by Wells Fargo thru ACH but some of the payments will be sent as checks by Wells Fargo. I'm assuming I need to use their format because part of the info i'm sending is the type of payment for Wells Fargo to process.

Yes, our client only did ACH payments. No outgoing paper checks from WF.

HI Everyone, Thanks for all your feedback. Customer is looking to send wires, ACH and checks. Currently looking at the CSV format with a crystal report but not sure it's going to work either given the fields they want and where they fall in the tables.

@Sage100Routine @Sage100UrgentSupportNeeded @NancyHanson I currently have a customer that has a similar request. They need to provide a file that can accommodate Checks, ACH and CCER AP Control to WF. Since this post, has anyone come across this and have any new suggestions?

I used Sage Intelligence to write a positive pay file to Excel, then user the saves the file to the banks preferred format (prn) and emails it.

We enabled Sage ACH and set up the vendors as standard. Coworker (Crystal Guru) wrote a Crystal Report for me and I have used it since with modifications for another client using WF Payment Manager with even more payment types.
