Customer is on 4.5.2.0 - we just upgrade them last Friday. They were electronically delivering PR DD stubs in the 4.40 version they came from. Yesterday they tried to electronically deliver PR DD Stubs in 4.5 and getting a message 'unable to password protect PDF Document'. Any help would be appreciated. Nancy

WAG - Could this be a user rights issue at the network level where the PDF files are stored?

We didn't change the directory of where the PDF files are stored so I don't think so, but can certainly check. I'm going back to my 4.40 to test and make sure I don't have any problems there. Thanks

I'm just guessing here so someone probably will jump in with a more lucid idea..

Is this on a Windows 7 machine?

We are doing this at the server W2008 R2 64 bit.

Interesting update. I know this was working on the 4.40 version prior to the upgrade. I just now went back to 4.40, created a payroll for this employee and another employee and received the same message when trying to electronical deliver the PR DD Stubs.

It's fixed, broke down and called Sage. The PDF Converter appears to have been corrupt. Thanks to Ryan @ Sage, we stopped the print spooler in services, which ironically deleted the Sage PDF converter. He reinstalled it and everything worked fine. As a side note, this customer was also having problems generating PR DD Stubs from their workstations (under previous 4.40 version). They have the path for the PDF set to go to another server and Ryan suggested that W2008 doesn't play well with legacy forms and storing them on another server. He called it the 'third server syndrome'. Have advised client and will see how this works.
