Customer is on 4.05 and unable to update for a myriad of reasons. Can they purchase 5 user licenses and use the new keys on 4.05 without any issue? They are also using Job Ops. They are active on Sage maintenance.

Quick test would be to install a key set that is using the new customer number and see if it works. Otherwise, Idon't see why Sage couldn't generate using their old number.

Here's to hoping they work in 4.05 From a prior experience, Generating old keys is not a simple request. I had a client that was forced to use PC Charge (by Sage) and needed old keys generated right after Sage made the switch to the new numbering system. It nearly took an act of god (not to mention several threats from the client) to get the unlocking keys. Sage initially told us they had ""shut Down"" the system that generated the old keys and they could not generate them. They eventually managed to provide them thought. This client is still on maintenance and I have a note that if I need old keys I should contact Brett Banner Brett.Banner@sage.com or Tammi Desimone Tamara.DeSimone@sage.com. That note is about 2 years old, and it was a ""special circumstance"" that Sage provided us just for this client. but if you get nowhere I thought maybe this could be useful.

Try Tami who is still at Sage. Brett left the company a year ago.

What I don't want to have happen is me become monkey in the middle. If I charge the customer $5k and they can't install the keys I'm going to be in some hot water. And if I test and the keys don't work -- under the doctrine of ""he who last touched the keyboard"" I am not compelled to fix any resulting issue (including chasing Sage for keys) at no cost whatsoever to the customer.

I have an old 4.05 installation locally installed for testing. I just put our new unlocking keys on it and they were acceptable. I can launch and run Applications so it seems to work fine.

Wayne, perhaps you have a copy of v4.05 on your server???? If not, whip out the CD, install to the workstation and use your company codes on it. You'll know very quickly if it is going to work.

You will have to purchase 5 additional user licenses from JobOps as well, and they will have to provide a new key for JobOps too. Just as a warning, if you need any support for any reason on that version, JobOps has taken a firm stance on not supporting old versions and 4.05 falls into that category.
