Customer is on 2013 PU8 - indicates that on the Stock Status Report the kits will show but there is nothing in the open S/O QTY total (have tried rebuild sorts). If they run an open order report it does displays QTY on SO for these kits. Is this a known issue or are they missing something when printing the report?

Are they exploded, i.e. the components show the correct qty on SO?

We also had a thread last week (?) on kit components that were imported but did not have primary vendor number just the division. Where the kits or components imported?

I don't know the answer to either of those questions but they're a great first place for me to look - thank you!

We are using SO-1068 from DSD. I'm not entirely sure what's occurring but continue to look into this. The Inventory maintenance main screen for the main kit items shows nothing on SO - yet if I look at the detail tab for orders there are 788 showing and it lists all the sales orders that they are on. Before I go much further I'm going to do a rebuild sort files on everything and re-check.

Are the kit items set to Yes, No or Prompt for Explode in the Item master?

Doesn't SO-1068 treat kit components as items and ignore kits (depending upon configuration)? I think there's 3 different ways kits behave with this enhancement, so the results you're seeing may be factual based upon setup of SO-1068.

There is a flag for ""exploded item"" (or similar). When that is set to Y the item won't appear on the report. When it is set to N the item appears. I'm going to test and see if stock Sage displays the same reporting issue. It is the flag that is keeping the item off the report and not counting a line as ""on SO

This appears to be a works as designed. I did find the issue is related to a field in the SO_SalesOrderDetail.M4T - ExplodedKitItem? When that field is set to ""Y"" -- which happens after the kit item is placed on the order and components exploded -- then the resulting main kit item does not appear on the Stock Status Report --- though the components do. Tested the same way with the SO-1068 and with stock Sage 100 I believe this is a works as designed. Unfortunately I don't know what the reasoning is other than I believe Sage may be trying to eliminate double counting (master item and also components). No idea why the item will appear on other reports but not this report.
