Sage 100

Customer is getting a message for Sage 100 standard 2014 - SQL is not installed. Any thoughts? Can't find anything on KB.

Are they using Sage CRM? Not sure it's related but....

No just Sage 100 and I have idiot IT guys.

I think it has to do with maybe a windows update or that the server went down last night. I am telling the IT guys that I think it has something to do with the server . He tells me well it did start a windows update but I stopped it.. Do you have a good back up? Oh yeah we have the MAS_xxx data ..... not the full MAS folder ? No we just need the data we have the disc.... I say OH Good LOL. Happy Friday to me ! I know I am getting a false error since they are on standard just have no idea on where to look. Told them to finish the window updates and we will see if that address the issue. Any other suggestions would be appreciated !

Found this in Evernote - Going to see if this happened. PU6 probably put down a patch for Sy_Sql.pvc in the SY folder. It's signals to the start up program that it's on a SQL system. So rename it.

OMG you want to laugh ? They called Sage and told them they are on Standard 2014 and Sage sent them over a document for premium. They said they were just getting ready to call me to see if I knew where ""SQL management studio "" was. Renaming the Sy_Sql.pvc. worked. Not sure why that all of a sudden would act up. Our Evernote Notes are the best !!!

Time to present this customer an ALA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! While there experience with Sage is still fresh.
