Customer has 2 seperate companies In Sage 100 version 2015. The 2 are very similar in setup as far as GL structure, accounts, AR AP Divisions etc. They were recently purchased and new owners want to run the 2 companies in Sage as one entity. They use the Financial and Distribution modules. Is there a utility / add-on or something similar that will merge companies?

@KennyDaniel check out Company Consolidation from DSD - http://www.dsdinc.com/enhancement/lmcc-company-consolidation/

Thanks Brian. I think this will do it even though it's a bit expensive for 1 time use

I used it at the end of 2013 to combine three companies. for the most part, it went smoothly. I suppose you ""could"" do it with VI, but by the time you are done, the cost is about the same and you have a lot more hair left ............

Ha, that's the least of my concerns since l have no hair left anyway. But I agree, it's worth buying it, even if it's for a one time use.

Actually gentlemen, you cannot do this without Company Consolidation or custom programming because you have to renumber all of the keys associated with the GL accounts not to mention the history files. And then you have to deal with all of the line files and sequence numbers. This product would be a steal at $10K. Just make sure you follow any of the instructions for rebuilding all the data files before and after, if that is still a requirement.

I agree Brian. I can't imagine doing this with VI or any other tool. Definetly worth it.

Good point on the keys issue. That bit us with a client last year. Good to know the utility exists.

I used this last year for consolidating two companies into one. I went into it expecting there would be some rough spots. The utility worked great. 10/10 would use again in a second. At the time bought it from Brian who has since sold it to DSD. I shy away from all the manual work if there is a ""sure thing"" alternative available that is fixed price. I just charge for the management of the project and actually installing and running the utility. 9 times out of 10 the customer wants it done over a weekend or night and there is not a problem quoting at a premium for after hours/weekend work.

@KennyDaniel just in case you are not aware, you can run the consolidation software as many times as you need to to help you clean up the data in the two source companies. Company Consolidation does not affect the sources in any way. It simply copies the data and merges it together.
