Customer cannot open MAS 90 4.30.17. Those who are already in are fine but those who are not, cannot log in. Record hT(&P/O is missing from K:\MAS90\SOA\Syoctl.soa Error # 11 Record not found or duplicate key on write Program SY_Session.pvc Line 1974 It's the same record for all users so I don't think it's workstation or user related. It's an old sy0ctl.soa record but I don't know what it's referring to - what were the hT records?? Anyone recall or have ideas?

Well I think the T is a terminal # prefix?

My money would be on Temporary. Can you restore from backup?

It looks very much like an older kind of Error 11 on Sy0ctl indicating a repair (or restore from backup) of that file was necessary. I like to repair with *UFAR but I presume if the following easier way would work too: * All users exit MAS * Run pvxwin32.exe from Home folder * At prompt type following and press Enter: RUN ""sy_rebuildsystem.m4p"" * Put in your MAS user and pswd then familiar Rebuild Key Files comes up. Choose SY0CTL (found at bottom).

    Thanks @AlnoorCassim ! I'll give it a shot.

From the old TRSG: SY0CTL System Control File Level: 3.61 11/12/2001 SY0CTL_SystemControlFile Record Type: h 'H' - Batch Entry Update - All Apps File Type: Direct Key Size: 9 Rec Length: 256 Min Length: 7 Define: Y Field Description Crystal/SQL Column Name Data Type Pos/Len Mask ""h"" String *(1,1) Terminal Id (Fid(0)) String *(2,3) Application Code (I.E., 'A/R') String *(5,3) Batch Number String (8,5) --------- If a restore did not work, then adding the record with DFDM (from existing record) may fix.

Wow, look at you @KennethPhillips with the old TRSG! Now I'll know where to go if I need access to it!

@ThereseLogeais you can tour Ken's desk at the MOTM this year ... then you'll believe that he actually has all this stuff.

The user says everyone is out of MAS but I get an 'in use' message when I try to run the rebuild. I suggested he reboot the server - which he did (I hope he rebooted the right server). Still getting the message. Is that typical @AlnoorCassim? Or am I missing something?

Perhaps the file is simply hosed and a restore is the best bet?

What happens if you try to rename it? Still an in-use? The reboot sounds like a good idea.
