  • 1.  Custom Report Preview Returning different results than export

    If the client using a Crystal Report that was added to Sage's Custom Reports Menu and previews the report they get an additional 44 records (happens to be the first page) that will then be exported but if you export directly from the print screen in Sage (ie choose export from the printer list) and click export those first 44 records are missing from the file generated.  This is Sage 100 2019.  It is from one computer.  That computer did have an older version of excel (which is the file type we are exporting) but that has since been updated with the same results.

    They don't have Save Data With Report checked, do they?  I'm not even sure how that works, but thought I'd throw it out there.

    Could the missing records have been from a sub report? I've had issues with exporting sub report records.

    I've run into this a couple of times and I think it IS related to subreports.  Try running it outside of Sage 100.

    It runs fine from preview or print from one machine.  It previews fine from this machine.  It is only an issue when you go directly to export.

    That's exactly the issue that I've seen. It previews, it prints, but sub report records sometimes do not export. I recall being able to work around it by using print time expressions in the sub report object.

    Sub reports definitely don’t export. Source: (a) Google, (b) Tried this 3 weeks ago.

    Workaround: Shared variables.

    Subreports will export to Excel.  Use the Excel 97-2003 format NOT the 'data only' format.  I have the best results when I line the fields/column headers up and butt them up against the field next to it.  No spaces between fields/headers and do the same for the subreport fields.  I have several clients using this setup without issue.

    Sorry, more completely. This was on a Crystal export to CSV with 1 subreport. Google’d and found a few other people with the same issue.
