    HI All,

I have a client that is moving their Sage install to a hosted computer in Azure. The move is being done using the method @Carmen Cruz came up with (thank you Carmen!!)  In testing they found that any custom BIE views are not there. Does anyone know were these "live" and if they can be moved?   Sage said no but I don't take them as the "final answer".

Alternatively, @Robert White came up with an alternate way to migrate from a Premium source when you can't access the source system directly.

    • Add a 2nd SQL instance (temporarily) and restore your SQL databases there.
    • Copy the MAS90 folder to a local path.
    • Install the target system normally, then start the migration normally, specifying the source path, and when prompted for SQL credentials, override the source SQL instance (detected by the migration programming) and point the migration tool at your 2nd temporary instance (where you restored the databases).
      • This "should" work like a normal migration...

You are most welcome Bob. BIE's are something I have never been asked about. Hopefully, Kevin was able to give you the right answer.   See you at the next 90minds.

With the steps that you followed from my instructional, you would've already done everything that Kevin has recommended. If you can give me a few days I can test on my virtual to see how we can get those across.  I find that kind of odd that the BIE reviews didn't come over to begin with during migration process that you did use.  Now you got my curiosity going because my process does bring all the core files on both sides from Mas90 and Database. Hmmmmmm. Thanks Bob. Lol I'll let you know what I find.

    Hi Kevin/Carmen

Thanks for the ideas.  Carmen is right – her steps will get them over. I was way overthinking this.  The custom views are in the views folder under BIExporer.   But there is one user that is seeing a view that I can't find.  Really odd. Searched everywhere and can't find it.

    Thank you,

    Hi All

Was able to solve the mystery.   Once IT got me connected to the affected user, I found that the path setting to the views (which IT said they had checked) was pointing to their old Sage server.  Once I looked there I found all the "missing" settings and copied them to the current server.  Corrected the users path and all is well.

    Thank you,
