  • 1.  Crystal runtime conflicts with Sage 100 and Sage Fixed Assets (& Sage HRMS involved as well)

    Posted 08-14-2025 05:49

I have a long time customer with Sage 100 and Sage Fixed Assets managed by me, and Sage HRMS managed by another consultant.  Currently on Sage 100 2023, and all on one server.  They want to move away form this Amazon server.  They want to move away from that to a server in the same colo where their operations software is running.

The last time all this was installed it took several days to get them all printing, and the problem repeats any time one of the programs needs to be upgraded.

I was hoping that maybe 2025.1 of both Sage 100 and SFA might escape this, but NO.

    On a fresh VM:

Installed SFA, test print, it works.

Installed Sage 100 (32bit because SFA is still 32bit), test print, It works.

Open SFA, get "reconfiguring SFA client software" test print, it fails and locks up the program,.

Go back into Sage 100, test print, error 200.  Now neither can print...

Does anyone have a tested method for getting these Sage products to coexist peacefully from the start?

And what is going to happen when Sage 100 2026 arrives with no 32bit option????

I have situations where clients have two out three products.  Issue was HRMS updated, goofed up Sage v2022.  My workaround was to delete the Crystal runtimes from the workstation, run the Sage client installation for newer version of Sage.  New runtimes were installed (32/64).  When that was completed, I ended the installation process.  The HRMS and 100 were able to play together in the sandbox.

Fixed Assets is the worst offender, because it embeds it's runtimes so they aren't available to uninstall/reinstall individually.  It looks like HRMS and Sage 100a re currently in sync, but not Fixed Assets.

Have you tried running Sage 100 in 64-bit mode?  I believe the limitation is based on conflicts with running 32-bit Sage 100 on the same machine... not other 32-bit programs.

Crystal Reports for Sage 100 v2025.0 and v2025.1 is causing printing lockups in Sage Fixed Assets. There is no workaround. Sage Fixed Assets v2026.0 I was told will fix this issue and is expected to be released 8/28.

That is what I call teamwork and product update coordination......

Thanks @Shari Eckersley for the final solution.

@Shari - did Fixed assets provide any info on whether their 2026 version will be 64-bit?

With the 2023 Sage 100, it had to be the 32-bit install to not cause problems for Fixed Assets.

We have multiple clients running Sage 100 v2023 and v2024 on SPC which is 64-bit and also running Sage Fixed Assets and haven't run into any issues up until this issue specific to Sage Fixed Assets and Sage 100 v2025.0 or v2025.1.
