Crystal report runs almost immediately outside of Sage, hangs in Sage

  • 1.  Crystal report runs almost immediately outside of Sage, hangs in Sage

    This is a report that has been working for a client - contains the main report and 4 subreports that use hard-coded logins to multiple companies for a combined AR Aging. All of a sudden it's hanging, yet if she runs it outside of Sage it runs fine.

    Any ideas?

    The only way I know how to override Sage auto-company selection is to set a report / sub-report to use a DSN, which would need to exist on the workstation.  Is that what you have done, and it isn't working?

    No, the report is just hanging.  It worked last month, nothing has changed, and still works if run OUTSIDE of Sage 100.  And yes, that's how I did the subreports, with hard-coded DSN that exists on that workstation.

    Well, it never has been in the past - I can't imagine anyone mucking about in that area and accidentally setting it up, but I can check.

    When running custom reports from Sage 100 Sage tries it's usual printer checking, are all printers in a ready status and is the default printer valid etc.?

    It's actually 4 companies on one report, and she ran it from the same base company outside of Sage and it went fine.
