Crystal report parameter calendar creating script error. FWIW, we had a client getting a script error in a customized report when they respond to a date parameter prompt with the Calendar button. Manual entry of a date worked fine. We tried replacing .net on the workstation and a couple other things that did not work. The fix (from an SAP blog) was to backup and then replace the 'prompting' folder with one from another workstation. The folder lives in C:\Program Files\Business Objects\common\3.5\crystalreportviewers115\prompting .

I believe re-running workstation setup has worked in some instances. Was this Crystal XI? I think it's a known bug. There's also a beefy Crystal program patch that can be loaded to fix it.

There is also a post in Socialcast somewhere explaining which files are impacted if you don't want to install the entire Crystal patch and you are on a v4.4 PU prior to the fix PU.

Was only happening on one workstation. Workstation setup did not correct but perhaps a removal and re-install may have done it. Have only seen it at this one client. We just inherited the client's network but have not yet been associated with their MAS. it was a quick fix. If we become reseller of record, we will make sure they are up to date.

@Wayne, be wary of the Crystal service pack - I had a client where it made things worse instead of better.

Find the replacement file 'promptengine_callendar.js' from SP6 (attached below) It gets stored in folder 'C:\Program Files\Business Objects\Common\3.5\crystalreportviewers115\prompting\js' (or for 64-bit 'C:\Program Files (x86)\Business Objects\Common\3.5\crystalreportviewers115\prompting\js' ) #calendar #fix #crystal
