Crystal question - These two fields are both numeric (and both formulas). I cannot for the life of me figure out why the top one is coming out like it is. This is an old form that has been used forever and suddenly, it changed to this. When I open it in Crystal it is the same. Has anyone ever seen anything like this???

Wow that is funky looking. So basic question, no one touched the form or formula? Could there be more than one field merge together??? or was hidden? I'm sure you looked but had to ask....

May not be relevant - but is this on a computer with a new version installed of Crystal and if so have you changed the standard field format under File - Options - Field - Field Format? I had a customer with this yesterday on an export. One desktop formatted perfectly. Another where they had just installed Crystal had formatting that did not match any of the others. Resolved by going to the new Crystal and setting options for field format as above.

Well, this was being run with Crystal 10 (old version of MAS as well) so I copied it to my desktop, opened it in 2011 (where the numbers were correct), saved it, then copied it back to their system. It now formats correctly. Very bizarre. I also opened it in XI and it had the funky format there as well. Who knows?

The other weird thing is that those are in two different group footers. I put a summary in both and only the one group had the funky formatting.

Makes me think someone was looking or playing with the form.

I don't think so. It is an old 2003 server and they have been having issues. I think something changed on the server - printer, etc. - and it messed with the form. I couldn't change the format of that field - well I could but it still had the same characters. I tried using the Format Paint option and it would change the font and size but not the characters. It was just something odd.

Sounds like you have it fixed. I was going to suggest copying the format from another numeric field. I would also modify the formula to just be a number, like 1000, then examine the result. If still weird, but different, it would have to be a formatting issue. If not, then something else is going on.
