Crystal 8.5 and memo fields I am trying to create a formula (using MID) in Crystal 8.5 on a MEMO field type. Actually, it doesn't seem to matter what I might be wanting to do with it - when I create a formula and explode the GL_DetailPosting file, the COMMENT field does not appear. Shows everywhere else, but not when trying to do a formula - even if I say I want to use Basic syntax instead of Crystal. HELP!

Feel free to post the .rpt (with data) of what you have thus far.

Heck, I even started over just to test this - Used the GL_DetailPosting account. Started a formula - the Comment field is missing from the file. Shows up when you just explode the file, but does not show up when trying to create a formula.

when I tried manually typing the field into the formula I get the following message: ""Blob Field or Memo Field cannot be used in a formula

Aw man, not BLOB fields, too! LOL Yeah, it looks like the client will have to load Crystal 10 to be able to run this report, so they'll have to run it outside MAS (they're on 4.05). Bummer. But no other way of linking a GL posting to a Job other than to extract if from the Comment, so there you go. Thanks for the responses. Glad to see I wasn't going cwazy. At least not over this.
