Credit Card Swipe Readers - In case anyone is interested, below are a couple links for CC swipe readers. Sage was absolutely useless in providing information on readers that would work with MAS (even though SPS would still charge the higher keyed rates). This outfit also provides a keyboard interface that will parse the CC information into the appropriate MAS fields. Their customer service is very easy to work with and the readers are reasonably priced. They also have indicated that the readers will work with the upcoming 2013. http://www.idinnovations.com/downloads/ID%20Innovations%20Value%20Line.pdf http://www.idinnovations.com/downloads/ID%20Innovations%20Classic%20Line.PDF Contact information is: Jeffrey K. @JeffSchwenk, what version of MAS did you get this working for? And do you know if this solution is PCI Compliant?

And do you happen to know if this solution yields less-than desirable rates?

While the solution allows for card swiping (and a lot better processing efficiencies), card is still recorded as a KEYED card for SPS. Client is on v4.4 still. We plan to move them to v2013 in June where MAS is supposed to recognize the swipe AND a lower rate. As far as PCI compliance, I don't know how this affects compliance. Becoming compliant is such a PITA for my clients. I've worked with two trying to gain compliance and threw my hands up. You need to be a rocket scientist.... It is cheaper to pay the $25 monthly penalty.

@JeffSchwenk Wasn't there some type of talk about sending in a form and then SPS takes the $25 /mo penalty away. I seem to recall this coming up before and thought a few people reported that the form wasn't that difficult and Sage Payments didn't put up a stink about removing the fee once they got the form? Has that changed?

Not sure. This hasn't been a high priority for me to pursue lately.
