Credit card question: I just learned that my customer in version 4.30 has the setting to unencrypt the credit card number because they manually key in credit card transactions through their bank. Had no idea they did this and they do not own the credit card module. Am upgrading them to 5.0 -- Is there any trick left in Sage in version 5.0 to get the unencrypted credit card number to be visible?

Nope. The credit card number isn't even stored in Sage 100 from 5.0 on. It's in ""the vault"".

That's what I thought @RobertWood . So then they have to purchase the Credit Card module right?

Basically to store the credit cards in the vault and use them, you would have to be using SPS. If you're using SPS you get the credit card ""module"" for free.

You can always set up a UDF that is only visible to select few people which grossly in violation of the CC rules. but if they never get caught or have a breach, who is to say differently. Might be a great time to show them the CC module and SPS. Perhaps the ease of use will offset any cost savings they have with the bank. But then again, maybe one of the loan covenants is that they have to use the banks processor.

Yes, we are going to propose the SPS and CBS credit card solutions ...

I think I know what caused the original data conversion message ... the credit cards were not encrypted. So after I regenerated the encryption key in the source 4.30 company and then remigrated all of the system files, then the company data conversion finally worked ... it was not previously able to get to the Sage Exchange step in the conversion. Now ... can someone please tell me where that option was in the older versions to turn on the Unencrypted CC option so that the client can get at their credit card numbers in 4.30?

There's a checkbox in User Maintenance / Preferences to ""Display Formatted Credit Card"". Once checked, the user should be able to see the full number in Credit Card Maintenance.

@BillPfahnl - Great find. It used to be a setting in AR options......

    Although not in v2013, @BillPfahnl.

@BrettZimmerman That is correct. In v2013 you no longer need the checkbox to see the full credit card number. When you choose to ""Edit Card"" in Customer Credit Card Maintenance, you can now see the full card number in the SE Sage Vault screen.

@JaneScanlan, do you recall if you were able to get the unencrypted credit card #'s visible in 4.30? I've installed PU23 and enabled the user maint setting, but I'm still only seeing last 4 digits when running the Customer Listing Report (even though I have the 2 cc ckboxes enabled on that report printing screen).

No, I never did get the unecrypted cards out of 430.

Thanks, @JaneScanlan, appreciate the response. My situation was a little funky, but I did just get it working. I think at least part of my issue was Enhancement-related.
