  • 1.  Credit Card Payments via AR Invoicing

    Honing my demonstration skills for prospect only wanting the basic modules.  They accept credit cards.  When processing an AR invoice, I only see the ability to accept a credit card payment, not cash or check.  Am I missing something or does Sage limit the functionality in order to sell the sales order module.  In looking at the Crystal report, it appears that modifications are needed for credit card payments (deposits) to appear.

    If memory serves, Originally Sage did not allow any deposits in AR Invoice Data Entry and then due to popular demand they added Credit Card Deposits.  

     

    Could you workaround that with payment types? Setup a true Credit Card Payment Type and then another CC payment type that posts to the cash GL Account? I've not done any testing but maybe that would be an option?

    Welcome to the 80% solution.......  Perhaps I will show them AR and then gently persuade them to look at SO/PO/IM as it is "only" a few more $$ per user per month for the advanced bundle......

    SO would also be needed to sell inventory, use ship-to  addresses

    It's been a while since I've had someone only need the very basics of invoicing. When it used to happen I would suggest SO for the above reasons.

    Prospect has outgrown Sage 50 (too many transactions).  Currently being used as a POS for their front counter.  The rest of the accounting system is handled via their CPA.  So I will present a version of 100 that mimics what is in use and then suggest options that will improve their bottom line.
