@David Overholt Thanks for all the ideas. The customer has been copying the company, but then comparison is very tedious. I like the idea of creating a UDF. That way, the costed bill of materials report can have BOTH costs and they can see the variance in one report only... let me get to work on that!! thanks,

Add a UDF to CI_Item, and BM_CostedMaterialsWrk (sourced from CI_Item) then edit the Costed Bill Of Materials Report and do the math in Crystal? Seems like that would work. Use the projected cost in the UDF if it has a value or use the existing unit cost if it doesn't have a value.
