  • 1.  "Core" parts?

    Posted 02-18-2019 12:03
2018 new client sells auto parts and needs to track "Core" pieces. This is a new one to me.
Example: Brake shoes come in with a 'Core' that the customer takes, but is expected to return. If the customer does't return it, they need to be billed for it. Once the core is returned from the customer, it needs to be returned to the vendor.  They need to be able to track who has what (they are not serialized, but there is a time frame they are allowed to be returned in) and how many are expected to be returned from the customer, and additionally how many are expected to be returned to the vendor.

Anyone deal with this before? Suggestions? Hopefully and Extended solution that I have never heard of?

i do have experience but it has been a while.  We had a customer that made transmissions and accepted the core back from their customers and had to keep track of the cores.

We wrote significant add-ons for core processing.

let me see if i can find any of this material (documentation) so that you have something to read.

    Michelle,

Are the products and cores sold (and returned) using a mobile sales/delivery team? If so, we can likely do most/all of this out of the box with xkzero Mobile Commerce, all  integrated with Sage 100. We have functionality to enable consignment-type functionality and container deposit tracking that should do the trick.
