Since the dawn of time....... man has searched for a CHEAP & EASY way to switch from one accounting system to another!

So have one of my favorite clients who plans to retire in 2023. They currently use SAGE 100 v2017 STD - AP, BR and G/L for four different entities. They plan to downsize the office space and move accounting to a home office using QuickBooks.  QuickBooks user is a newbie to QuickBooks, but an old hand at SAGE 100 STD. I can help them by using VI to export GL and Vender Master file info.

Has anyone run across a DIY tool that works in this situation? Is the best advice to hire temp data entry help and go to town in QuickBooks?

I think hiring a temp that knows QuickBooks would be a win-win. The temp could probably help the full-time person get familiar with the basics of QB. And, if it is just AP-GL-BR that seems like it would be a good fit.

I just had a similar situation. The customer downsized to one user Sage 100 Standard. QuickBooks has risen in pricing and is moving toward an online/subscription-only model, which may not be much more than a single-user Sage 100.

Isn't Intaact supposed to be the go-to replacement of Sage 100?  Where are they in this mix?

@Jeff Schwenk... in my particular situation I was never asked about options for the transfer to a home office. The younger generation/owner of the holding company was already using QuickBooks for a start-up. So now all entities are going to use QuickBooks - no discussion.
