  • 1.  Conversation with Ben Weiss

I had a great conversation with Ben Weiss today about OM, Manufacturing and WMS products for Sage.  He expressed his understandings of the frustrations and his belief that End Point has a much clearer vision of how it will operate moving forward.   In addition to strategic change, they also recently completed their internal migrations to Intacct and Salesforce.  With all of this change and now with 6 months under his belt, and a full team of marketing and business development representatives  on his team, he is much more confident moving forward.

He also expressed his commitment to Sage and 90 Minds.  We discussed the status of the product and the lack of trained resources at End Point for support.  We also talked about the challenges of updating the product to a current standard.  He seemed open to creative ideas and so I brought up the OMAG.   Ben is open to meeting with the team and working collaboratively.  He discussed bringing product developers to MOTM as well if it could help!

I would like to suggest that someone reach out to Ben and schedule time that is mutually convenient to meet and talk with this group.  Perhaps at the next OMAG meeting an agenda could be developed to be certain he is prepared, has the appropriate meeting, or limits our expectations,

    Thanks for the post, Gary!

Ben had already e-mailed me about a conversation, so I will schedule a call the end of next week. Talk is cheap, and Ben's predecessors in management - CEO and down - talked a lot and accomplished nothing. The situation has become worse and worse over the years, and that is why we have the OMAG. I don't know how a software publisher can continue with a product when they have zero staff that know anything about OM nor have experience selling and implementing it. The only resources that would make a difference are in this group, and we have at least one thing in common - we are all intelligent and would never agree to work for End Point.

My opinion is this group must be in the driver's seat, because I don't see End Point or Sage contributing much of value without us. Our OMAG meeting on Monday should be interesting!
