  • 1.  Confused about Microsoft ERP Naming?

If you are as confused as me about the various names that Microsoft uses to refer to their ERP offerings -- this blog post is a great resource. Perhaps the best reference is the chart included in the post. While this post is from May 2022, it's resurfacing as Microsoft made a surprise announcement at a user group that essentially said the October 2022 Microsoft Dynamics GP would be "the last release adding other new features".

Microsoft later tried to walk that statement back in what appeared as if they mostly used kinder words to deliver the same message.

Thanks for the post and the laugh.  Just when you begin to hate your software publisher, just go and read about the "other guys" and realize that they all have their endearing qualities.  For example, I sold my client base and notified the publisher in March.  Due to the efficiency of the organization they could not complete the transfer until September.  Of course because the customer was in transition they could not bill for the subscription until the contract issue was "resolved."  Which means they billed me for March through September and "cannot" bill the new partner since they were not the reseller of record until October.  I understand that accounting software publishers do not know the term "credit memo."  Anyone know a good ERP consultant?
