The 90Minds Board of Directors is currently seeking passionate, knowledgeable, and proactive consultant members to get more involved as with our Community Engagement Team.  As we continue to grow and foster our community, we need committed individuals who can contribute significantly to the 90Minds Communities.  We have several key roles that need to be filled, each integral to the efficient operation and growth of our community.

    • Community Managers: Oversee the community, moderate discussions, ensure guidelines are followed, and act as a liaison between the technical team and the users.  They may escalate complex issues or questions that require higher-level expertise.
    • Subject Matter Experts (SMEs): Designated professionals or experienced community members who have deep technical knowledge in specific areas.  SMEs are responsible for providing detailed, accurate answers to complex technical questions.
    • Community Respondents: Active community members who regularly contribute to the discussion and answer questions.  They should have expertise in relevant technical fields but may not have the depth of an SME.  Their role is to help with day-to-day inquiries.
    • Moderators: Ensure discussions remain civil, on-topic, and within the community guidelines.  They may assist in directing questions to the appropriate respondents or SMEs.

If you are passionate about our mission and have the skills and dedication required for any of these roles, we invite you to join our team.  As a contributor to the 90Minds Communities, you will have the opportunity to help shape our direction, make a significant impact on our members, and drive the success of our community.

To apply or get more information, please contact Anne.Sawyer@90Minds.com and she will share your name with the 90Minds Membership Committee.

We look forward to welcoming you to our team and working together to make the 90Minds Communities the best it can be.

As a reminder, our website for the 90Minds Group includes a number of Community Forums.  These forums are designed to act as vibrant communities where you can share information, ask questions, and collaborate with fellow members.  Our aim is to leverage the collective knowledge and expertise within our community to provide a platform where members can engage in meaningful discussions, share insights, and learn from each other.  To get started visit our website, navigate to the Community Forums, join the ones that interest you most then start posting questions, sharing insights, or responding to existing discussions.

     A couple suggestions

    1. Close down access to URGENT support unless you are a contributor. Don't like that? Dues are $4,000 annually and include access to urgent support. So, yeah, we have an option for you if you participate but not if your a weekend warrior. Sorry for everyone this rubs the wrong way.
    2. Too many different positions - I think the group needs to think up some type of award/reward for active members. Either access to resources that lurkers don't get or some other way to reward participation.
    3. You essentially have two primary features: Consultant Facing ( community, webinars) and Community Facing ( Annual Conference)  - maybe this gets split into two types of members. An active community member must be approved annually while an active community member pays their money and attends the conference.
    4. The changing face of consulting means that now and into the future you have far fewer independent consultants and many more large partners ( who I refer as the BPAC or award winners) - the group must determine how to offer value that members of BPAC aren't getting from their own internal teams ( IMO this is the top issue)

So, maybe if you can't get into the community unless you're active then that's an incentive to be active? Certainly even the BPAC type member wants a look at the chatter that might warn of early issues with Sage 100...

In short I don't think designing for how things were when we started is going to work as effectively as designing for how they are now.

    Just my .02

Hi Wayne - Thank you for the suggestions - much of this is already being discussed amongst the Membership Committee.  And anything that has not been considered they will review.  We already have some fantastic changes happening and more membership updates soon!   I have no doubt this will part of our roundtable discussions at Meeting of the Minds (on Wednesday) when we discuss the vision and future of 90 Minds.  I hope to see you all there!

The Membership Committee is doing amazing work.  If anyone has any interest in joining Membership or any other committee, please reach out to Madeline or myself.

Thanks @Wayne Schulz for your suggestions which have a much higher value than $0.02!

I joined the Membership Committee to help increase participation in 90Minds and to help brainstorm for ways to increase our value to our members who have branched into other products (primarily the larger organizations who are part of 90Minds). In the early days, you and the BOD drove 90Minds and did most of the heavy lifting for the community.  As we have grown the # of contributors remains relatively constant while the % of contributors goes down.

Since I joined 90Minds I have advocated for additional content beyond the primary focus of Sage 100 support as I-BN used to represent at least two publishers.

    • I am fully aware of the forays  with Acumatica, Sage CRM and Sage 300.  We have learned from these experiences.
    • Many of us have become more consulting oriented and less product oriented. We rely less on publishers and they have taken over installation and parts of support.
    • In the early days of Sage Intacct there was tremendous pushback where now there is much more acceptance and interest, especially from the larger firms.
    • Times have changed with Cloud ERP, SaaS, value based billing, and soon to change even more with AI.

I just saw this quote attributed to Charles Darwin: "It is not the most intellectual of the species that survives; it is not the strongest that survives; but the species that survives is the one that is able best to adapt and adjust to the changing environment in which it finds itself."   Like evolution, the changes in our industry have been slow and steady.  I look forward to brainstorming with the community at the Wednesday afternoon roundtable discussions on how we can best adapt and adjust to the changes in the SMB ERP market.
