Client swears on a stack of bibles they had no problem with zero quantity-small positive or negative value inventory in v2014 but it was created during the upgrade to v2016. From what I see, the upgrade did create this mess. They can correct the conversion generated issues but fear this will be an ongoing problem. Sage support gave me a WAD answer so that's no help. They use lot valuation almost exclusively.

We've seen similar things crop up after an upgrade. v2016 shows some tiers that were previously hidden from the stock reports.

Same here. Old version if youshow detail does show the correct small value but hides it with out detail. New one shows it all the time.

Did you run the Pre-migration routines? I recall that Inventory Balancing Utility will create tiers to adjust between cost file, warehouse detail file and transaction file.

(I thought pre-migration only applied to old framework modules).

They changed the reports to include 0 qty with $ - it used to leave those off. I am having LOTS of clients with issues on that, plus .001 balances here and there. UGH.

Maybe I'll just modify the report. Problem solved?

Receive 1 at a good cost. Adjust -1 at the tier value. GL JE to correct the entries appropriately.

Yeah, that works but we've got about 200 lots affected so don't want to mislead them about issues going forward.

I did adjust the report for one client, but it bugs me that those layers are out there...

We've taken the approach that the existing data needs to be corrected. If there is then an ongoing issue with v2016, we can take that to Sage (or elsewhere if enhancements are at the root). Data integrity issues seem to catch attention for motivating program fixes.
